Individual Methodist Churches are part of larger groups called CIRCUITS which in turn are part of even larger groups called DISTRICTS.

All the Districts in England, Scotland and Wales form the Methodist Church of Great Britain.  This is known as the CONNEXION to remind individual members and local churches of their interconnected and interdependent nature.  Ireland (both the Republic and Northern Ireland) is a separate Connexion.

STOCKTON HEATH METHODIST CHURCH is in the WARRINGTON CIRCUIT which is made up of 11 churches.  The churches were split into five partnerships but have now formed into two partnerships for discipleship and mission:

  • BOLD STREET, HOOD MANOR, LATCHFORD, PENKETH and ST PHILIP'S make up the West Partnership

  • ANTROBUS, LYMM, PADGATE, RIXTON, ST MARTIN'S and STOCKTON HEATH make up the East Partnership

On 1st September 2011, the WARRINGTON CIRCUIT is to merge with the MAKERFIELD, ST HELEN'S & PRESCOT and WIDNES CIRCUITS to form the SANKEY VALLEY CIRCUIT.

The WARRINGTON CIRCUIT is part of the LIVERPOOL DISTRICT
